The driver of the car, a 37-year-old resident of Dolyna, was found to be in possession of the stolen money, a knife, and a gun-like object that he had used to threaten the gas station staff. In the village of Piilo, in the Kalush region, the police stopped a car matching the description of the one the attacker was believed to be driving. The police in the Dolyna and Kalush regions were informed about the robbery and began searching for the criminal. He then approached the cash area, pulled out a knife-like object, and pointed it at the cashier, forcing her to give him over 10,000 hryvnia (the local currency).
